It’s me. Greg. I’m… I’m the one that’s back. Finally.
Anyway, it’s nice to see you! You look great. What have you been up to?
Me? I’m… here. Still in LA. Still doing the acting thing. And the small business owner thing. And the writing thing. And a bunch of other things, too.
Like, I’m a professional Dungeon Master now. Yeah! That’s a thing. People pay me to run games like D&D for them. It’s fun.
It’s nice to reclaim my online presence after being offline for so long. I’ve been slowly retrieving most of my data from my soon-to-be-former hosting company (who sucks).
I’ve still got a few boxes to check over there before I shut down that account, but it’s happening. I’ve finished transferring all of my domains over, as well as all of the e-mail accounts. Now I just need to finish exporting the sites themselves and relaunch them on my new account with a far-superior host.
Some of the sites will be sporting updated content and new looks, too!
Unfortunately, I can only work on one site at a time, so it’s slow going. But I am making progress, and that makes me happy.
Speaking of updated content and new looks, I’m experimenting with a new layout for my personal site! Something a little artsier. A little experimental.
Please tell me if you hate it or can’t figure it out. I wanted to try something interesting and a little whimsical, but I’m not afraid to change it if it doesn’t work.
Beyond the glitchy homepage, I’m excited about the new structure I’m putting in here. My hustles will be broken out into their own subdomains rather than sub-pages off of one site. However, the main site (this one) shall host the blog, and everything will be interlinked. I know that sounds needlessly complicated, but trust me it’s good for SEO. Or something.
More importantly though, I’m planning on using this space to continue promoting my work and projects, but in a meaningful fashion. More posts like my Secret Family Fake Blood Recipe, Seven Casting Sites Actors Should Know, etc. Less “so this is what I’ve been up to this month” or “acting is hard.”
I want to create content that people will find useful.
Because it’s one thing to read a post about me struggling as I try to make that big break and glean what you can from that. It’s something else entirely for me to share useful information and resources related to that struggle.
And ultimately, that’s what I want to do: help other artists.
(And succeed in my own right, of course.)
So, first things first; I’m going to finish rescuing the data from my old site off of the old host and relaunching it all here on subdomains.
Then I’m going to finish re-launching all of the separate sites for my plays, projects, etc.
Then I’m going to finish recovering all of the pertinent blog posts (hopefully with their comments still attached) and repost them here with updates!
It doesn’t sound like a lot to do, but when you consider that this is about a dozen separate websites I need to bring back up… yeah, this is going to take a while.
Then again, what doesn’t these days?
